We are currently hiring a Domestic Violence Advocate, to work in our Herkimer County Agency.
As the Domestic Violence Advocate, you would be responsible for:
Crisis and supportive services to DV clients in person or though 24-hour hotline.
Complete assessment of needed supports and services, available resources and a plan for meeting client's needs.
Provide advocacy for victims applying for other services in order to live violence and abuse free.
Attend professional trainings and conferences to maintain and develop current knowledge of all aspects of the issue of domestic violence.
Provide or arrange for transportation as necessary.
Client advocacy and accompaniment through court, social services, medical and housing systems, and others where appropriate.
Maintain accurate and complete case notes.
Provision of children services, including:
counseling, recreational activities and childcare as appropriate.
Shared coverage of 24-hour hotline.
Facilitation of support group as required.
Domestic Violence Advocate Minimum Salary:
$17.
50 per hour Domestic Violence Advocate Maximum Salary:
$18.
50 per hour Domestic Violence Advocate Schedule:
Part Time:
17.
5 hours per week, flexible hours, weekend availability Full Time:
Monday - Friday, occasional weekend and evenings, 35 hours per week
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred) Experience working with trauma informed, survivor-centered service Experience and knowledge of working with domestic violence protocols Benefits (For employees working 20 or more hours):

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
